I run a complete chimney and masonry service company. I specialize in chimney relining and rebuilding.

Tim and Holly Smith started Actual Chimney Specialists in 2009. Tim had worked as a chimney professional both in the Berkshires and the Albany, NY area before deciding to venture out on his own. Over the past ten plus years, both the business and our family have grown. We welcomed children into our lives in 2012, 2014 and 2016. We value our customers who have also joined our chimney family during that time.

Tim is a Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA) certified chimney sweep. Tim is also a Certified Chimney Professional (CCP) and Certified Chimney Reliner (CCR). Tim is a member of the New York State Chimney Sweep Guild. Tim is known for his honest prices and hard work. When he’s not busy working, Tim enjoys coaching football, baseball and helping with Cub Scouts. Tim is also a member of the volunteer fire department. In the limited time that Tim is able to sneak away from both business and family, he enjoys metal detecting. He will often enthusiastically describe his cool (and not so cool) finds.

Holly officially joined the Actual Chimney Specialists team in 2013 when their oldest was a baby. Holly’s background is in Childhood Education and Special Education. Holly enjoys the behind the scenes business tasks and the ability to be home for their young children. Holly is a Girl Scouts troop coleader and helps at the local preschool. Holly is also a member of the Eastside Quilt Guild.
